Mysticism: what it is?

In very simple word a mystic is a person who travels in the path for searching of the God. A person who has explored the mysterious facts about God is known as mystic . Basically mysticism refers as the ideology of mysterious/occult things (Rahashyavad). But every mystery there is a base . What a mystery for a common man is as simple as for a mystic . So in the language of common men such a person who decodes the mysteries addressed as mystic .

According to a article published in the new Indian express newspaper about the above topic and it reads as, Mysticism comes from the Greek word mystes, which refers to an initiate of a secret cult. It means the pursuit or achievement of personal communication with or joining with God (or some other form of the divine truth). A person who successfully pursues and gains such communion is called a mystic.

There are numerous religions in the world and every religion has their particular mystics as in Hinduism shankaracharya,in Islam Pegambar Muhammad, in Christian Jesus Christ, in Sufism khwaja Mohiuddin Chisti, lao Tzu in Taoism etc etc. Here are a few examples of Mysticism-

1. Atman is Bramhan in Hinduism.

2. Thisness of Reality in Buddhism.

3. Christian experience of personal revelation from or communion with God.

4. Little sleep, little talk, little food as followed by Sufism.

5. The feeling of oneness with the nature in Animism.

6. Non violence principle in Jainism ( also practice Shalekhana).

7. Service to humanity is the service to almighty principle followed by Shikism.

These above are some examples of mysticism apart from that complete dedication through devotion, heartly surrender to God with sacrifice are the ways followed by the mystics.

Main purpose of this article is,' EKAM SATYA VIPRA BAHUDA BADANTI ' i.e truth is one but the ways are different. All religions has the same, one and simple core theme but the followers of that respective religion make it many and complicated.
