In an era dominated by social media, curated personas, and constructed realities, the concept of a false narrative has entered into every facet of our lives. From personal space to political discourses, the line between truth and fiction has blurred, leaving individuals grappling with the confusion of self.
In this article we are discussing about some points regarding false narrative and its impacts on the society.
The Fabrication of Identity:
False narratives often begin with the construction of identity. In the digital age, individuals curate their online personas, presenting idealized versions of themselves to the world. This cultivation of identity can lead to a disconnection from one's authentic self as individuals strive to meet societal expectations .
The Impact of Social Media:
Social media platforms serve as breeding grounds for false narratives, offering a platform for the proliferation of misinformation and the distortion of reality. The rampant and indiscriminate spreading of fake narratives actually impact a country and even an individual ruthlessly. The constant barrage of carefully curated images and narratives can fuel feelings of inadequacy and insecurity among the masses .
Recently the spreading of wrong news that the Indian constitution is in danger is the biggest lie of this age and perfectly sets an example for this context.
Political Implications:
False narratives extend beyond the realm of personal identity, permeating into the political sphere. Politicians and media outlets often propagate misleading narratives to sway public opinion and further their agendas. This manipulation of truth can have far-reaching consequences, eroding trust in institutions and exacerbating societal division and putting the society in a confusing state.
A female MP from the current ruling party in New Delhi brought a serious case of physical assault against the party supremo and and party supremo gives guarantee for women protection in his manifesto,is a perfect example fitting for this context.
Psychological Ramifications:
The perpetuation of false narratives can have profound psychological effects, leading to a fragmentation of self. Individuals may struggle to reconcile the disparity between their authentic selves and the personas they present to the world, resulting in feelings of alienation .
In the past few days a video was trending on YouTube named Dictatorship which addressed the head of the government of India. And after some days, the maker of that video was roaming freely in India. See the level of hypocrisy. This is a perfect example fits in this context.
Understanding the Identity of self in a Bharatiya way.
According to the Bhartiya Darshan, the self is mainly confined in the spiritual arena first then in other fields. But in this article we restrict ourselves in the field of social self. As man is a social animal and man itself is the part of a society so without a society a person cannot live. So it is obvious that one must come under the influence of external stimulus. The surrounding environment always wins as compared to the internal mind and perhaps in most of the cases it fits truly. The social self contains three most important sub categories like the political self, the economic self, and the cultural self. The term politics we used oftenly is not an indigenous concept. It is a foreign word. Since ancient time it is the Rashtraneeti not the Rajneeti which fits for this land. When we use Rashtraneeti,we must know that the concept of Rashtraneeti origins from the Dharma which alone protects. Dharma does not as the same meaning as religion. Dharma is the way of life which gives birth to the cultural l identity i.e how We live. Again this culture identity gives birth to the economic identity i.e what is the base of the economic development. When these two become united, they give birth to the political identity i.e, what is the nature of the politics. So all these are interdependent and interrelated with each other and become one identity, the Bhartiya identity. As we already restricted ourselves from the spiritual dimension,so this bhartiya identity becomes our social self.
But sometimes some unforeseen situations arise which are actually driven by pre-planned wrong theories and conspiracies against this great identity, only to break down and demolish it. For example the Aryan invasion theory. A single wrong narrative has the power to defame an entire well established identity with continuous stab. So it is very essential and crucial for every individual to protect their identity first so that all other activities run in a harmonious way.
As it is already mentioned in the aforesaid description about the last identity i.e the political one, so it our duty to choose the right decision before giving the seat of power to a person who will protect our identity.
Cultivating Authenticity:
In a world inundated with false narratives, cultivating authenticity becomes an act of resistance. It involves embracing vulnerability, embracing imperfection, and reclaiming ownership of one's narrative from the clutches of societal expectations. Don't care about others as what others think ,if anyone tries to defame my identity then I must be capable enough to protect my identity at any cost.
False narratives have permeated every aspect of modern life, leaving individuals grappling with the confusion of self. In a society that prizes perfection and perpetuates falsehoods, reclaiming authenticity becomes an act of rebellion. So start the revolution and spark the first lit of fire to protect yourself from foreign contamination because without your social identity you are nothing to the world.i.e the Bharatiya identity.
